United Church of Christ congregations, Associations, and Conferences are increasingly recognizing the importance of having an online presence to engage with current and potential members. Many do not have websites, but UCC Everywhere (UCCE) offers a solution.
Announced at the General Synod in Milwaukee in 2019, UCCE has expanded its reach across the United States, with representation in 22 out of 36 Conferences. Aidan Spencer, UCC web operations manager, expressed gratitude for being part of this initiative. “In the continued development of the UCC Everywhere program over the past few years, we have found that this platform can be of service not only to local congregations but UCC Conferences and Associations as well,” she said.
For a subscription fee, churches can obtain their own website along with customer support services for security updates and inquiries. The program also provides digital marketing tools to help churches reach their communities effectively.
Karen Hill from Deer Isle Sunset Congregational Church in Maine chose UCCE after losing their previous website. “It’s designed for churches; it just makes sense,” she shared. She praised its user-friendly design despite some imperfections.
The Living Waters Association of the Nebraska Conference also launched their site through UCCE. Rev. Adam Lassen noted that it made updating content easier compared to their previous static website. “The new one pulls over content such as the Daily Devotionals and UCC News,” he said.
Information about UCCE was available at the General Synod in Indianapolis in 2023, where Lassen learned about it. He acknowledged that setting up took longer than expected but described it as a positive experience overall.
UCCE will be present at General Synod 35 in Kansas City this year and is open to new participants who can request demonstrations through an online form.
