The Sulzer Regional Library will host the Comic & Arts Festival on Saturday, December 6. The event is free and open to all ages, aiming to celebrate storytelling, creativity, and imagination.

Attendees can participate in a range of activities, including panel discussions with authors, illustrators, and industry professionals. Featured guests include Mike Norton, Jim Terry, Max Bare, and Sarah Becan. The festival will also feature an Artist Alley and Merch Market where local artists will showcase original works.

A cosplay workshop is planned for those interested in fan culture and character design. Families can attend a superhero-themed storytime designed to bring classic heroes to life.

The schedule includes "Tell by Showing: Instructional Comics" from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the Large Meeting Room. Sarah Becan, known for her Let's Make series of instructional comics, will discuss her career and why comics are well-suited for clear instructional content.

A second session titled "Gutters and Pannels: Visual Storytelling" runs from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. This discussion features Mike Norton, Jim Terry, Max Bare, and Sarah Becan sharing their experiences in the comic industry.

The festival takes place at Sulzer Regional Library, located at 4455 N Lincoln Avenue in Chicago.
