Covid-19's impact on church congregations studied over five years

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared Covid-19 a global pandemic. This announcement led to widespread changes as offices, schools, and churches ceased in-person meetings and adjusted to new protocols such as masking, social distancing, and online gatherings.

In response to these unprecedented changes, the United Church of Christ (UCC) initiated a five-year study titled “Exploring the Pandemic Impact on Congregations.” The research findings are accessible at www.covidreligionresearch.org.

The UCC is seeking input from congregations about how the pandemic has influenced their practices. They are interested in learning about new practices that have emerged and ongoing challenges. Stories can be shared with Donna Jackson, UCC communications specialist, at jacksond@ucc.org.
