The chronic truancy rate at Piccolo Elementary Specialty School stayed flat at 53.1% during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

In the previous year, the school saw a chronic truancy rate of 53.1%.

Countywide, YCCS - Association House High School had the highest chronic truancy rate among the 1,270 schools in the county in the 2023-24 school year (99.4%), while Victor J. Andrew High School had the lowest (1.4%).

For comparison, the average chronic truancy rate in Illinois public schools is 20%.

Overall, the 632 students enrolled in Piccolo Elementary Specialty School at the time had an attendance rate of 91.1%.
