The South Shore Branch of the Chicago Public Library is inviting teens to participate in an online poetry contest this April. In commemoration of National Poetry Month, teenagers aged 13 to 19 have the opportunity to submit a seven-line poem for consideration.
Participants are required to provide their name, the poem, their grade, age, and preferred contact information when submitting their entries. The submission period is from April 1 to April 30. Each participant may submit up to three entries for the contest.
The winner, who will be contacted on May 7, will receive a $20 Amazon gift card, along with a free journal and a book of their choice. The library encourages young poets to enjoy the creative process of writing and sharing their work.
