The outreach center at the Mission is offering a variety of retreats and is welcoming groups to organize their events. The center has a 57-bedroom facility and can host different types of retreats, including college alternative break trips, adult service retreats, and independently organized retreats like RCIA retreats, young adult retreats, or staff retreats for parishes.
The Mission also facilitates day retreats run by Franciscans, available to all adults. The facility is equipped with a chapel that accommodates 60 people, a conference room for 70 people, and a dining room that can host over 100 guests. The larger church building is available for bigger groups interested in day retreats.
The Mission operates on a free-will offering basis, but food arrangements can vary among groups. They cannot accommodate overnight stays for minors, although they are welcome for day retreats. Furthermore, sacraments, including Mass and confession, can be organized based on group requirements.
For those interested in participating, groups are invited to reach out via email at olamission@gmail.com or call 773-486-8431 to schedule a retreat.
The Mission previously hosted various retreats, including a men's retreat and a women's retreat with open registration. They have also welcomed midwestern state universities and church groups for service and spiritual retreats. Additionally, a Night of Mercy event facilitated by the Mission attracted a large number of participants for Adoration and confession.
Organized activities have included assisting with the pantry, after-school programs, gardening, building maintenance, and other Mission services.
