YMCA Day of Giving raises over $30k for community programs
Robin Jordan-Repokis Interim Chief Development & Engagement Officer | Mcgaw YMCA

The McGaw YMCA held its annual Day of Giving on May 8, 2025, in Evanston, Illinois. This event aimed to unite the community in supporting local initiatives and programs. The day concluded with over $15,000 raised from 130 donors. A matching gift doubled this amount to more than $30,000.

The front lawn at 1000 Grove Street featured a Garden of Gratitude with pinwheels representing each donation. These contributions will support various YMCA services such as child care, early education, swim lessons, summer camps, and housing for men.

Monique Parsons, President/CEO of the McGaw YMCA, expressed her gratitude: “We are incredibly grateful to the community for showing up in such a powerful way to support our Day of Giving.” She emphasized that each pinwheel symbolized the generosity and connection vital to their mission.

Funds raised will help sustain YMCA's efforts in Evanston by providing programs that foster community connections and individual growth. The organization extends its thanks to everyone involved in making this year's event successful.
