Chicago Park District announces Night Out in the Parks schedule for summer
Rosa Escareño, General Superintendent & Chief Executive Officer | Chicago Park District

The Chicago Park District has announced the 13th season of its Night Out in the Parks series, which offers over 1,200 hours of cultural programming across more than 260 neighborhood parks. The events aim to provide free cultural experiences accessible to all ages and highlight local artists and diverse cultures throughout Chicago.

Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, Superintendent & CEO of the Chicago Park District, stated, "Since its creation 91 years ago, the Chicago Park District has been a leader in providing accessible, equitable, and high-quality programming to Chicagoans and visitors alike at little to no cost. We continue this tradition through the 13th season of Night Out In The Parks." This year’s program features over 600 events spread across each of the city's 77 community areas.

The event lineup includes Movies in the Parks starting June 10 with screenings at Belmont Harbor and continuing through September 6 in more than 120 parks. Additionally, from August 25-30, Chicago Onscreen will showcase films made by local filmmakers. Other highlights include performances by dance groups such as NAJWA Dance Corps and music events like Jazz’n in the Parks by the South Side Jazz Coalition.

A ‘Text to Subscribe’ feature introduced last year allows park patrons to receive event details directly on their phones by texting ‘Night Out’ to (833) 270-0707. Attendees are also encouraged to use #NightOutInTheParks on social media.

The launch event was held alongside “Switch on Summer,” an annual celebration marking the activation of Buckingham Fountain for summer. Performers included NAJWA Dance Corps, Starr Chief Eagle with hoop dancing demonstrations, Cielito Family Mariachi among others. Eventgoers had opportunities for interaction with entities like the Chicago Creative Reuse Exchange at their booth.

Upcoming spotlight performances feature groups like CircEsteem with "Circus in the Parks," Lookingglass Theater Company's "Ice Cream Circus," and Marcel Bonfim’s "Funkeria - Brazilian Funk Jazz Show." Events will run through October.
