Join the Go Green Fair on June 25 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at CPL for Adults, where a range of activities and opportunities will be available. The event will include a Job Fair in the South Hall and a Volunteer Fair in the Winter Garden, offering attendees chances to explore job and workforce development opportunities as well as ways to engage with local eco-friendly volunteer organizations.
Participants can enjoy live music by Old Town School of Music, create floral bouquets with Vivant Gardens, and partake in sustainable crafting with the Chicago Fair Trade Museum. Attendees will also receive unique summer-themed swag while supplies last and learn about nature-related programming for Summer at CPL for Adults. Those attending the Job Fair will receive additional materials to aid their job search.
The Job Fair will feature organizations such as Association House of Chicago, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Far South Community Development Corporation, Forest Preserves of Cook County, Heartland Human Care Services, Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago, Illinois Department of Human Services, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois Department of Public Health, Jane Addams Resource Corporation, Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, Openlands, People's Gas, and Windy City Harvest.
Volunteer Fair participants include Chicago Bird Alliance, Chicago Conservation Corps, City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department, The Climate Reality Project: Chicago chapter, Citizen's Climate Lobby: Chicago chapter; Conscious Costume; El Paseo Community Garden; Forest Preserves of Cook County; Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue; Headcount; Illinois Mycological Association; Illinois Science Council; Lincoln Park Zoo (accepting old cellphone donations); The Morton Arboretum; Openlands; Out Our Front Door; Read and Run Chicago; The Recyclery Collective; Redemptive Plastics; Shedd Aquarium; Trash People; Urban Rivers; The Vegan Museum and The WasteShed.
