In late May, 46 pastors and lay leaders attended a week-long Preaching Camp at Silver Lake Camp and Retreat Center in Sharon, Connecticut. This camp is part of the Southern New England Conference's initiative, Project Proclaim, which aims to equip individuals with the necessary tools to share the gospel effectively.

The Rev. Dr. Chris Davies, executive minister for programs and initiatives for the Southern New England Conference, emphasized the importance of this effort by stating, “Telling the story of the gospel matters now more than ever.”

Project Proclaim is supported by a $1.25 million Lilly Endowment Grant awarded in 2024. The initiative collaborates with PATHWAYS Theological Education and Hartford Stage to provide small group cohorts, educational sessions, workshops, and events throughout the year.

The Rev. Donna Frischknecht Jackson from UCC News visited Preaching Camp to highlight how Project Proclaim is transforming Sunday sermons and beyond.
