Cook County is organizing the Pathways to Cook County Summit, an event aimed at increasing procurement opportunities and strengthening connections with small businesses. The summit is scheduled for August 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the UIC Dorin Forum in Chicago.
The summit is hosted by the Cook County Office of the Chief Procurement Officer and involves collaboration with almost 90 county departments and agencies. Attendees will be able to participate in workshops, meet vendors, and join interactive sessions that focus on professional development and business growth.
President Toni Preckwinkle and John Roberson, Executive Vice President of the Obama Foundation, will deliver opening remarks at the event. Their comments are expected to emphasize public service and leadership within Cook County.
“The Pathways Summit is about opening doors and building bridges between Cook County government and the communities we serve,” said President Preckwinkle. “We’re creating space for connection, collaboration, and opportunity—whether you’re looking to engage with government services, explore career paths, or grow your organization’s reach.”
The summit provides opportunities for attendees to interact directly with various county departments. Participants can learn best practices through hands-on activities designed to support equitable development within local communities.
Registration for the Pathways to Cook County Summit is now open. Residents, business owners, community leaders, professionals, and those interested in public service are encouraged to sign up through cookgov.me/PathwaysSummit.
