Chicago Public Library is organizing Teen Lit Night: Unbound, an event aimed at young adults between the ages of 13 and 22. The event will take place on Friday, September 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Winter Garden at Harold Washington Library Center.
The evening will feature opportunities for attendees to engage with young adult literature, art, and music. Special guests include authors Jamia Wilson and K. Ancrum, who will participate in an Author Lounge where they will discuss their inspirations.
Participants can enjoy book-themed mocktails and select free books chosen by the library’s Teen Best Reads Interns. The event also includes live art creation by Clue Chicago, with free T-shirts featuring their design available to attendees. BackPack Beatz will provide Lo-Fi music, while Mena Arte invites participants to collaborate on a community art project. DJ MoMami will host a silent disco with contemporary music selections.
Local organizations will have tables at the event, offering interactive activities for those attending. Attendees are encouraged to visit Carleigh’s blog for a complete list of featured books and can register for the event in advance online.
