The Chicago Public Library is promoting a new training video series on generative AI, produced by Microsoft and available through LinkedIn Learning. The six-hour course covers the basics of generative AI, its applications in content creation, current models, future trends, ethical considerations, and tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
Participants who complete the learning path and pass the final exam will receive a professional certificate from Microsoft. This certificate can be added to a LinkedIn profile and shared with others.
The curriculum includes topics like the fundamentals of generative AI, using Copilot for workflow automation, evaluating ethical implications of AI deployment, and applying search strategies with reasoning engines. Specific modules include “What Is Generative AI?”, “Generative AI: The Evolution of Thoughtful Online Search,” “Streamlining Your Work with Microsoft Copilot,” “Learning Microsoft 365 Copilot for Work (2024),” “Ethics in the Age of Generative AI,” and an “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.”
To access the training, users need to log into LinkedIn Learning and select the relevant learning path.
"Gain essential skills to harness generative AI in your career. Start today so you can lead in this transformative era. Once you complete the content within this Learning Path and pass the final exam, you can download a Professional Certificate provided by Microsoft, add it to your LinkedIn profile, and share it with others," according to CPL.
