Harold Washington Library hosts crafts before Arts in the Dark Parade
Chris Brown, Commissioner | Chicago Public Library Humboldt Park Branch

On October 18, 2025, the Harold Washington Library Center will host a pre-parade event ahead of the Arts in the Dark Parade. The event is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the library’s Grand Lobby at 400 S. State Street.

Attendees can participate in craft activities such as making "Trick or Tote" bags using glow-in-the-dark vinyl decals and designing masks with sequins and feathers. Younger children are invited to the Thomas Hughes Children's Library on the second floor, where they can use the Create Cart stocked with glow-in-the-dark materials for mask making. Supplies will be available while they last.

The event will also feature a visit from a special guest artist.

For more information, interested individuals can contact the library at (312) 747-4300 or hwlc@chipublib.org.
