Chicago Public Library promotes activities for preschoolers and caregivers at neighborhood branches
Chris Brown, Commissioner | Chicago Public Library Humboldt Park Branch

Chicago Public Library is encouraging families with preschool-aged children to visit their local branches. The library highlights several activities available for young children and their caregivers, including story times, opportunities to play and meet other families, and resources for learning new skills.

According to the library, parents and caregivers can support their children's early literacy development during these visits. Activities are designed to help build phonological awareness and foster independence in daily tasks such as getting dressed or helping in the kitchen. The library also offers books that address topics like managing emotions.

Families interested in participating can find more information about their nearest branch through the Chicago Public Library website. A spokesperson stated, "We can't wait to see you and your preschooler!"
