Belmont Village Senior Living has announced a new national partnership with Best Buddies International to support workforce inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The collaboration aims to place participants from the Best Buddies jobs program in employment roles at Belmont Village communities across the United States.
The partnership, which is Best Buddies’ first official collaboration within the senior living sector, seeks to offer more opportunities for individuals with IDD to work and connect within Belmont Village settings. Earlier this year, a pilot phase began at Belmont Village Coral Gables in Miami, Florida. In March 2024, the community welcomed its first team member through the program as a bistro attendant. According to Belmont Village, this participant has become an integral part of the dining staff.
Patricia Will, Founder and CEO of Belmont Village Senior Living, stated: “We are proud to partner with Best Buddies to create meaningful employment pathways that reward unique talents, strengthen Belmont Village communities, and enrich the lives of both residents and team members.” Will added, “At Belmont Village, we are deeply committed to expanding inclusivity in all of our communities.”
The initial launch in South Florida is expected to extend soon into Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Chicago.
