The Chicago Public Library (CPL) is launching its first summer sticker design contest aimed at teens. The contest invites participants to create original art that will be transformed into stickers and distributed as prizes across all CPL locations.
This year's summer program focuses on nature, encouraging teens to design stickers that reflect themes such as gardening, local wildlife, and sustainability. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025. By mid-April, a winner will be selected to receive 50 copies of their sticker design and a $50 gift card.
Participants are required to submit designs via the CPL website, where they must fill out personal details including name, age (between 13 and 19), email address, school name, and preferred CPL location. Submissions must include an uploaded sticker design in jpg or png format with a maximum file size of 30 MB.
The contest rules state: "By submitting this form, I consent to the use of my design by Chicago Public Library singularly or in conjunction with other photographs for advertising, publicity, social media or other print or digital use, along with my first name and last initial."
The library advises participants not to include confidential information in their submissions. For more sensitive communications with library staff, alternative methods such as telephone are recommended.
