As the General Synod 35 approaches in Kansas City, Missouri, a distinctive webinar series is set to bring women from the community together. Designed as an intimate workshop, the series from National Ministries intends to foster relationships among women and provide a shared space for dialogue.

Rachael Ward, the Minister for Gender and Sexuality Justice, described the initiative: “It’s not going to be your typical webinar. It’s going to be a live space where we’re all in the space together to have conversations, ask questions, and be in a shared community with one another.”

Named "Into the Deep: Womxn 2 Womxn," the series aims to embrace the diverse spectrum of womanhood within the denomination. The series will be held over three months on April 8, May 13, and June 10. Guest speakers and presenters will share their experiences and offer attendees resources to use. The series will conclude with an in-person networking event at the General Synod in July to strengthen community ties.

Ward emphasized the series’ importance: “This is a moment where we’re being reminded that we need each other. Our denomination is 53% women, so the need for this is that we want to be able to create ways of connectivity.”

UCC News interviewed Ward about the series and its expected outcomes. Registration for the webinar series is available online.
