Chicago Public Library hosts annual gaming event for teens
Chris Brown Commissioner | Chicago Public Library

Registration has opened for the fourth edition of Gamer’s Universe, scheduled for Saturday, June 14, at the Harold Washington Library Center. The event will run from 11 AM to 4 PM and feature a variety of gaming activities, including escape rooms, board games, tabletop role-playing games, video games, and trivia competitions. Participants are encouraged to wear cosplay, create art, and explore the artist alley.

This year's tournament lineup includes popular games from the Chicago indie scene, such as Mario Kart 8, Tekken 8, Splatoon 3, and Uno. Gaming enthusiasts of all ages are invited to attend and join in the fun.

Gamer’s Universe is organized by the Chicago Teen Gamer’s Guild, a group of high school students who plan gaming events across the city. The convention will offer attendees a chance to play original games and engage in programs and competitions designed by teens.

Young artists and those new to exhibiting are encouraged to apply for the Artist Alley, where they can showcase game-inspired creations. This space aims to connect artists with a community of fellow creators and fans.
