Cook County will observe Digital Inclusion Week from October 6 to 10, 2025, joining other communities in efforts to expand digital access and literacy. The week’s activities are organized by Cook County Digital Equity, with a focus on improving opportunities for residents who may lack reliable internet or technology skills.
The main event of the week is Access Amplified, an inaugural learning symposium scheduled for Tuesday, October 7 at Malcolm X College Conference Center in Chicago. The symposium aims to bring together over 200 participants—including community leaders and organizations—to discuss strategies for closing the digital divide.
“Digital equity is essential to ensure every resident has the tools, skills, and opportunities to thrive in today’s connected world,” said Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle. “Digital Inclusion Week will spotlight the County’s work, celebrate the community leaders making a difference, and strengthen partnerships that advance digital access for all.”
Throughout Digital Inclusion Week, more than 100 events are planned across Cook County. These include workshops, demonstrations, and both virtual and in-person learning sessions intended to support digital literacy. Organizers say these events reflect ongoing efforts to provide equitable access to technology throughout the county.
Access Amplified will feature interactive sessions focused on best practices and community-driven solutions for increasing digital inclusion. The symposium is designed as a collaborative space where organizations can share resources and build partnerships aimed at empowering residents to participate in the digital economy.
“Digital Inclusion Week and Access Amplified together create a powerful opportunity to share knowledge, celebrate progress and build connections that strengthen communities across Cook County,” said Kyla Williams Tate, Cook County Digital Equity Director.
Participation in Access Amplified is free and open to organizations or individuals interested in promoting digital equity.
“Access Amplified brings together leaders from across Cook County and the region, including the Cook County Council of Digital Equity (CODE), the Digital Equity Action Committee (DEAC), and the Chicago Digital Equity Coalition,” said Mauricio Jimenez, Digital Equity Coordinator. “It’s a chance for these organizations to learn from one another, share strategies, and strengthen the collaborative network working for all residents.”

Cook County Digital Equity follows guidance from its Action Plan with goals such as expanding technology access through programs like its Digital Navigator Network—which positions libraries as local support centers—and supporting community-based initiatives through grant programs. These efforts aim to bridge gaps so all residents have equal chances to use technology effectively.
