The McGaw YMCA in Evanston will mark its 140th anniversary with a fundraising event called the Y140 Party. The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Sebring-Lewis Center within the McGaw YMCA.
Northwestern University is presenting the event, which is open to adults aged 21 and over. Organizers describe it as a combination of previous McGaw Y Galas and Y Parties, aiming to provide an evening featuring music, dancing, food, drinks, and opportunities to support the organization's mission.
Monique Parsons, President and CEO of McGaw YMCA, said: “The Y140 Party is both a celebration of the YMCA’s 140-year legacy in Evanston and a tribute to the generations of neighbors who have shaped our Y into what it is today. This milestone belongs to our community, and we are excited to celebrate with you as we write the next chapter of our Y’s story together.”
Attendees can expect DJ Corey Bless playing music from various decades, photo booths with props, chances to connect with others in the community, and ways to contribute financially to McGaw YMCA's programs. The event will offer complimentary valet service along with free parking in YMCA lots. Food will include local selections alongside an open bar serving beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Guests are encouraged to dress in styles inspired by past Y Parties.
Tickets are currently available for purchase with early bird pricing offered through November 30. For more information about tickets or sponsorships, interested parties can contact the organization by email or phone.
